Walkin in Memphis

Yes, I am behind on blogging (surprised right?). A couple weekends ago we got to head up to Memphis to spend the weekend with the Burris bunch!
We arrived Thursday, but late Thursday due to work and traffic so not much happened that day.
Friday we woke up and had breakfast on the deck. It - was - wonderful. It was cool outside, but not freezing, just perfect to sit with your coffee and look out over the backyard. We all sat and chatted. There were lots of hummingbirds buzzing all over the place! I had just gotten my new camera (WOO HOO!) so I was loving playing around with it. Here's some of the shots we got:

This is Chad - we were seeing how fast the shutter speed on the camera was but it just made an awesome awkward picture :)
Chad had an interview that afternoon and Brian and Chelsie arrived that afternoon as well. Brian is a corn-fed boy from Iowa - they've been dating around 4 months now. He was an awesome guy! Crazy like the rest of us so we got along haha. That night we had an awesome dinner- AND sparkling grape juice which has been just about my favorite thing lately.

And did I mention... CAKE?!
Dinner was wonderful as usual and then we moved on to presents. There were a couple for my birthday and then to our surprise they had a TON of gifts for Ava! It was so much fun - I just can't get over how cute things are!

This was Chelsie's gift - HILARIOUS!

This is what became of our Bumbo after the guys got ahold of it. It became a Roman helmet.

Saturday was all fun and games - literally. Croquet was played outside along with Frisbee and some other things. Then somehow people started challenging one another and races began taking place. The first was among the Burris siblings

Then they convinced Dad to race along with them. Here is how that went....

Yep. Doug fell in a hole and busted. Notice Chad's face in the last picture as he realizes what happened and that he was winning. Tisk Tisk. It was quite funny though to be honest :)
After the fun and games we went to the Zoo! I was SO excited. I felt like a little kid. I just Love the zoo. AND apparently the Memphis Zoo is one of the best in the country. It was so much fun! Ava is now a 'member' of the zoo too along with her Burris grandparents so I'm sure she will love it too :)

Sunday was church and then we drove home! The whole family is coming down next month for the shower so that'll be a lot of fun!!

That was a great weekend. That picture you took that shows Doug's knees starting to buckle right before he fell is hilarious.
