Weekend with Mimi and Poppy!

Wednesday night last week Chad's parents came to visit! They had gone on a birthday trip for Sherry to see the Cardinals play in St. Louis and then headed down here! They arrived around 9-10 and we just got everything set up and of course said hi to Ava and such :) Thursday Chad didn't go into work until about 2 but from then until I got home they got to babysit. They loved it! I feel so blessed to have inlaws that are so loving and wonderful. I hear horror stories from other people and it makes me so thankful for this family I became a part of. And they LOVE Ava. She is not lacking in the love dept. at all HA. Thursday I finally got home and we hung out a little and then watched The King's Speech (which if you haven't seen it I highly recommend - great movie). Friday I was off work and Chad worked until 5:30. I was able to do some errands without Ava and it was nice. I missed her the whole time, but I didn't miss having to turn around every time we got to a stoplight to find a paci, listening to screaming in the backseat when there's nothing I can do, having to get out and undo the carseat and carry the very heavy ava/carseat combo into somewhere just to grab a newspaper or something small like that. It was a nice small break. What did I do on my break? Mom and I went and got my oil changed. Haha nice break, huh? But we also went and got her an iPhone (woo hoo!) and then went to her house to set it all up. She is loving it! It seriously changes your life. Anyways I got home that afternoon and we played with Ava.
OK Friday night we grilled steaks and chilled with Ava. She takes up all our time so saying 'we chilled with Ava' seriously means we spent hours looking and playing with Ava. We then watched The Pacific that night and headed to bed.  Saturday we, take a guess, yes - played with Ava. She's just so darn cute!! They headed out around 12.
Here's pictures!

I was kind of just messing around when I took this picture but then I ended up LOVING it.

Mobile Monday

Time for the 2nd week of Mobile Monday! I feel like I'm writing out a game show haha. We had a busy week with not a TON of pictures but here ya go!

That is a beanie baby that I had when I was 'little' haha. Ava LOVES it!

I had to go and lighten this quite a bit because it was early in the morning so thats why its all pixel-y but I just loved how she had her hand resting on her big ol belly.

Playing with Poppy!

Towel-head Ava. She loves it, can't you tell?

Asleep in the car with her favorite new toy - Occty from Aunt Chelsie and Uncle Brian!

This is just to show everyone how she loves sleeping with something touching her face. She was fussy until I put that book back there and she snuggled up with it and went straight to sleep. I also think its hilarious when she squints and looks like shes faking sleep haha

Mobile Monday

Yes I know it is Wednesday but it's because I've had this post ready since Monday I just haven't been able to add the pictures. What am I talking about? A new tradition!
Every Monday I am going to add pictures taken with our phone from the last week. I realized that I added a bunch taken with my camera, but NONE that are taken with our phones and usually thats the quickest thing to grab! SO be prepared for weekly phone pictures!

Since this is the first edition there will be SEVERAL (and this isn't even half of what all is on our phones haha)
Ava and I went on a walk and she LOVED the geese!

Ready for some cereal!

First try of cereal...not sure what to think ha

Eww cereal!...I want some more!

First trip to the Zoo! Ava loved the giraffes....

and the monkeys! That is her friend Blair that we went with.

I looked down halfway through the trip and Ava was OUT!

Easter Sunday! Our little bunny :)

Ava got a job at Best Buy

After the zoo trip - cooling off in the car

First pigtails!

One day Ava was fussy in the car and so I gave her a hommade toy -- tissue paper!

Hooray! Mobile Mondays have began!

4 Months Old

Ava bean is 4 months old. Time is a-flyin. We went to the pediatrician yesterday for her check up. Here's all her stats:
14lbs 4oz (75%)
25 inches (75-90%)
17 inches - head (90%)

She is doing great with her milestones he said. She did have some yeast issues so we got some cream and we are using that to help her out :)

Here are some things I just don't want to forget about Ava at four months:

I just love how she loves to cuddle when she gets sleepy. She will just snuggle up to you and it makes you feel so special.
I love how she tries so hard to roll over, and does! She rolls back to front and front to back and has for a couple weeks now. There are times when she does it so quick and other times when she works and works for it.
I love her squeals! She hasn't mastered laughing yet but instead she almost screams for an extended time. It is hilarious. When you try to tickle her she just does a high pitched 'ahhhhhhhhhhhhh!'
I love her expression when she pulls herself up. Yes she is pulling up, but only on our fingers but still, pretty amazing right? But her expression after she does it looks like she is SO proud of herself. Priceless.
I love that she is not waking up every 2 hours.
I love that she gets a huge smile on her face when Chad puts me on speaker phone on my way home from work.
I love that she is starting to have favorite toys.
I love the shy look she gets sometimes when you are trying to get her to smile. She will smile, then turn away, then look back at you and repeat. SO cute.
I love how she watches sesame street and Elmo is her favorite.
I love her little sighs she does when she is sleeping.
I love her little fat rolls and how dust and stuff get stuck in them. Gross, but so cute haha
I love that she blows bubbles all the time.
I love that she is TAN! She isn't very tan but seriously, she is darker than I am and we haven't even really been outside.
I love all her hair and her bows. It is so much fun to brush and be able to stick a little bow in. It is starting to get a little poofy on the sides though ha!
I love that she gives us warning burps before she spits up everywhere.
I love how she tries to stick her ENTIRE fist in her mouth and drools all over it. Lately she has started sticking her fist in there and then 'talking'. So its a muffled "muaaaaaaahhh" "bluuuuuuu" and so on. Those were the best ways I could think to spell her sounds...but seriously its so funny to hear.
I love that she uses her eyebrows to express stuff. Sometimes she just raises one and it is hilarious.

Some other things Ava is doing:
drooling EVERYWHERE
spitting up EVERYWHERE
still up and down with sleep. nothing consistent.
cries every time she is in her carseat (although the past 2 days she has fallen asleep instead!)
she leans up to get out of her carseat once you get the belt off ; she knows its coming!
she loves dogs and stares at them any time she sees one
getting more and more ticklish, still not incredibly crazy about it though
she has perfected her pouty face

...I will add to this when I get more time/ think of other things!!

17 Weeks!

Wonderful Wedding Weekend

Over Easter weekend we all (Me, Chad and the bean) headed to Memphis for Chelsie and Brian's wedding!! We went up on Thursday and on Friday the girls went to the bridal luncheon. We went to a place called La Baguette and it was an outside inside restaurant. What does that mean? Well you walk IN the building but it is build like you are outside. All the stores and cafe's are built in houses and buildings that look like you are outside walking along a path, but you are inside! It was SO cute.
Most of us got quiche and soup or chicken salad and it was pretty good! Chelsie then got a cake that said "Congratulations Chelsie" which was also very good :)
After that we headed back home and got ready for rehearsal dinner! We went to the church and ran through everything. We got to meet a lot of Brian's family (SO sweet!) and friends (hilarious guys). Ava did wonderful through the whole thing.
We then headed to Colettas which was a fancy Italian restaurant. We had our own private room and name places and little snack cups set up with pictures of the lovely couple everywhere! We had dinner (I had the chicken alfredo) and Chelsie and Brian went around and talked about everyone in the room. I had to only semi-look at Chelsie when she talked about me. I was going to ball my eyes out haha
Ava was being passed all over the place from grandparents, to great grandparents, to random church members so I didn't have her as I was leaving the restaurant and AS I was leaving I heard ava fussing, but it wasn't coming from the room we were just in, it was coming from a table in the main area. I looked over and saw this random blond lady at a random table holding her! My body started to react and I almost jumped on the lady but right then I looked up and saw Doug and Sherry there talking to them. Turns out they were their next door neighbors.  That would have made an interesting story -- "Civilian jumps lady at local restaurant over baby mix up".
That night the bridesmaids and Chelsie went to the church and just hung out and talked. It was so nice to just have normal girl time talk. I've forgotten how nice that is. None of them are married (2 engaged) or have children so it was just normal conversation. Very fun :)
The next day was THE day. Chelsie woke up and went and got her hair done and when she got home she drove me to the church to start getting ready. All the girls met at 10 (ok, ok, 10:30) to 'get ready' together with our hair, make up, dresses, etc. I'm SO thankful to Rachel helping with my hair! It wouldn't have looked anywhere near as good without her! After that was picture time - we watched from afar as Chelsie and Brian saw each other for the first time. So sweet! Then we had pictures with Chelsie, with Brian, with Brian and Chelsie then family pictures. After that everything went very quickly and we waited in the Bride's room until it was show time. We went out, took our places, and were off! The ceremony was short and sweet. Vows, rings, speech, and done. They were so cute. I teared up and tried very hard not to just lose it. I didn't :)
Reception was afterwards and was just gorgeous! They had an ice cream bar because they aren't big cake fans and it was so fun. I ate waaay  more than I probably should have ( and I wonder why I can't lose the rest of my baby weight?? ha). I also gave a speech (thats right, I stood in front of 200 people and spoke) and again, had to speak quickly so I didn't just cry like a baby infront of everyone haha
Brian's truck got hit pretty hard by the groomsmen. Luckily they had forseen this and were secretly taking another car. They pretended to get in the truck and then said 'just kidding!' and got in a car parked nearby. Sneaky, sneaky. What they didn't know is some poor soul had to drive that truck back to the house and wash it haha
Overall it was VERY enjoyable. I am told Ava did perfectly when I wasn't with her. She's such a social little bean.
